SLAB is a length of metal that is rectangular in cross-section. It is created directly from continuous casting or indirectly by rolling an ingot.

Applications:
Slabs are usually further processed via flat rolling, skelping, and pipe rolling. Common final products include sheet metal, plates, strip metal, pipes, and tubes.
Slab tolerances
Length: The actual delivered slab length will not deviate from the ordered slab length by more than ± 50mm (apart from the last slab of a cast or sequence).
Weight: The actual weight of an individual delivered slab will not deviate from the calculated slab weight in the order by more than ± 200kg (apart from the last slab of a cast or sequence).
Width: The actual delivered slab width will not deviate from the ordered slab width by more than ± 20mm.
